i was wonding how EXACTLY a 2m match in made...i have plans from a old <not
THAT old> 73, a 6 element 2m yagi, but i never made a 2m yagi.
some plans i have are only direct feed  ---o o---
but a match?

John - I just posted to the wrong msg so I'll repeat here. I installed an R7 on 
the 2nd floor section of my chimney and it works great. The length of the 
antenna makes it a bit hairy to carry across the roof prior to getting it set 
up, esp at that height and with a steep pitch, but it withstands the wx pretty 
well. Hope this helps.

Mark - I mounted an R7 on my chimney on the 2nd floor roof. Works fine but it 
was a bit dicey getting it up there. Fortunately WB4IUX who is much stronger and 
younger did the work but it is definately hairy, esp that high up. Otherwise it 
works great!

True in the Americas.  However, in the rest of the world, there are
some countries which use the even numbers.  That is why some radios
tune in 100 kHz. steps (so they are "world" ready radios).

After considering many different options, opinions, and experiences, I
decided to order the MFJ 1786 Hi Q Loop Antenna for my restricted
patio home.  In calling many mail-order firms, I find that none have
the unit in stock, that they haven't seen one in months, and they don't
anticipate having any in stock for 2 or 3 more months.  Either the 
antenna is terrific or MFJ is trying to sell vapor-gear.  I might also
mention that the mail order price is listed in recent ham radio magazine
ads and catalogs as $214-216 range not including shipping.  The price
over the phone is $259-269 plus shipping.  Something screwy going on.
Anyone else having similar problems?  Might have to go back to a 
different antenna scheme.  One of the salesmen at a mail order house
said that if he were boss, he would cancel the entire MFJ line. They've
had nothing but problems with them.
